MASTER THE WARM-DOWN

Why should we warm down after every run?

Not only does it boost your flexibility, flush out toxins and reduce the risk of injury, it also helps your body and mind return to a neutral state after working hard.
Below are some of my favourite warm-down exercises.

Please remember that these videos should not be used to diagnose or treat a medical condition. Always seek medical advice if you have pain or difficulty while doing these exercises.

Warm-up skips: Video
1. THE ULTIMATE CALF WARM-DOWN

This comprehensive series of stretches targets both the upper and lower calves and releases them on the insides, outsides and in the middle of the muscles

2. QUAD AND HAMSTRING STRETCHES

Run through these static quadricep and hamstring stretches to ensure your thighs don't suffer from soreness after your run

3. HIP FLEXOR AND PIRIFORMIS STRETCHES

These areas work hard during a run so it's important to warm them down well so they're ready to roll well next time they're called upon
